My Melbourne : Brother Burger

What : Beer and Burgers
Out of five : Four

Does food hold memories for you ? Can one bite instantly transport you to another time and place ?
It certainly does for me.

Mashed potatoes will always remind me (lovingly) of my Nanna.
Christmas pudding brings back memories of  my beloved Ma.

A really, really good burger,  I mean just cooked so it's still juicy. The perfect bun. A hint of cheese, mayo and sauce and I am instantly sent hurtling back on the road trip to end all road trips in America.

America knows and loves their burgers. And they do them well. Not too much fuss. Just a good burger.

Far be it from me to dissuade you of international travel, but, you can get the exact same taste sensation with just a Myki and trip on the 112 tram.

Brother Burger and The Marvellous Brew in iconic Brunswick st, Fitzroy has burgers perfected.

Not only do they have the burgers, and necessary (yes, I said necessary) fries perfected but this is a craft beer destination as well.

So....beer and burgers ! You see why it's one of our faves.
An ever changing beer list and attention to detail on glassware and temperatures, the beer list has never disappointed.

If it's a sunny weekend, grab a seat outside and watch the colourful parade that is Brunswick st pass by. Walk up to Rose St Artist Market and walk it off.
If it's chilly, sink into the red leather booth seats and imagine you are somewhere in New York, or maybe the mid west or LA.

The only slight negative is that sometimes the service can be, well, really...really...slow. Not with getting the food to you, just the ordering of. Ironically, the busier they are, the better the service.

Actually, that's not unlike our service experiences often in the States....maybe it's not just the burgers they have perfected.......
